CSC Tennis
CSC Tennis is the only Year-Round event offered by the club. And we've been keeping it going for over twenty five years!
Tennis at this year's US Open is proclaimed as "the world's healthiest sport." A study published by Mayo Clinic found tennis players live almost 10 years longer than people who are sedentary. Get out and play...it's good for you!
We offer tennis both indoor and outdoor as is appropriate for the seasons ,
Summer Outdoor Tennis - DOUBLES 2025:
Summer Tennis is FREE!
Summer tennis is open to Columbus Ski Club members and non-members alike. We always hope to generate interest in the Fall, Winter, and Spring tennis league through our summer tennis program. There is no sign-up and no fee for summer tennis. Just show up if you want! We begin by 6 PM (start adjusted as daylight times get shorter starting in September) on Friday nights (starting 5/16) at Hilliard Davidson High School, 5100 Davidson Road, Hilliard, OH 43026 and generally play about 2 hours. Can't get there at 6 PM? Come as soon as you can, however, the more people we have at 6 PM allows us to hold courts. NEW START TIME FOR SEPTEMBER: 5:30 PM! All levels 2.5 and above are welcome. If the Hilliard Davidson High School courts are too busy and no Columbus Ski Club members are there, we have moved about 5 minutes away to Hilliard Darby High School Courts.
Labor Day Tennis: On the holiday weekends play Friday evening as usual but also on the holiday Monday, starting at 9:30 AM. This year was no exception and we had at least 24 players, 6 courts!

Fall Indoor Tennis - DOUBLES 2025:
Outdoor tennis will continue as long as the weather is suitable and the daylight long enough. We will officially move indoor October 24. New this Fall we look to have tennis on a week-to-week pay-as-you-go basis. Details will be provided by late September.
After any Friday night tennis plan to join us for drinks and/or dinner!

Summer Play Details:
Fill courts as people arrive and start play when ready. Generally, the first court to fill will be the top court. The next to fill will be the second court and so on.
Players are rotated after a team wins seven games by one. First court to do so announces 'SEVEN.' All courts rotate at that time with winners up, losers down. Partners switch. Play is NO-AD. In case of a tie score, play one more deciding point.
Bring a can of NEW tennis balls to share
At skill level of 2.5 the participant should:
- Understand basic tennis scoring
- Be comfortable with and understand some doubles strategy
- Be able to keep the ball in play during warm-up and in moderate social play
We have a nice range of ability levels from 2.5 to 4.0. •
